2019 Roundup….

2019 has been a rollercoaster.

I love my little crochet world but it is really hard trying to run/build a business alongside a challenging day job. I’ve also had some tough times personally.

The first half of 2019 for my crochet business left me feeling whether I should continue, whether it was worth the exhaustion, guilt and feelings of failure.

The second half proved to me that if you have the strength to keep going, even though its hard you get amazing glimmers of what you would like your business to be and that maybe I might have what it takes .

I have finished this year feeling so proud of what I have acheived;

 designed 2 characters for a local children’s author
 designed 3 characters for a local coach for her children’s mental health programme.
 exhibited at two large yarn events, even teaching at one, with amazing feedback for my crochet kits
 designed my first CAL (crochet along) which people loved
 continued to develop my little crochet community
 2 patterns published in a crochet magazine
 getting through to the very last selection steps of Kirsty’s Handmade Christmas.

I am going into 2020 with a definite focus to continue moving forward, I already have some known exciting plans including;

👍 two yarn events booked, including teaching at one
👍 plans for more yarn events
👍 new wreath kits
👍 online crochet course
👍 my lessons seem to be going from strength to strength
👍 a stint on the shopping channel 😉
👍 potential interest from a large retailer to hold crochet lessons in their store 🤞🤞🤞
👍 manage my own charity campaign

I’m also still keen to promote crochet lessons in organisations and schools to help with wellbeing and mindfulness.

I’ve learnt that I can’t do everything (although secretly I still have a pop up shop at the back of my head 😂). The exhaustion, guilt, doubt and complete and utter lack of hours in the day will still be there in 2020 but I will keep plugging away and and looking forward to see what I might acheive in the next 12 months and I know that with Mr Crochet’s help it will be a good year. 🐢🐇

I wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you. I am always absolutely blown away by how much you support me and my makes. Your comments, likes and encouragement keep me going and my business would not be here without your support. 🙏

Wishing you and your family a healthy and happy new year.
